The Senior Professional in Human Resources - International (SPHRi), named as Human Resource Management Professional, HRMP before 2016, is designed for senior-level HR professionals who are involved in strategy and policymaking activities. The SPHRi exam focuses on the strategic and policy-making aspects of HR management, regardless of geographic region. The SPHRi is similar to the Senior Professional in Human Resource (SPHR), but without the focus on US employment laws. A typical SPHRi candidate will have four-to-seven years of progressive experience, and has experience creating HR programs.

 

Eligibility Requirements

 

A minimum of 4 years of professional-level experience in an HR position with a Master's degree or global equivalent, OR

A minimum of 5 years of professional-level experience in an HR position with a Bachelor's degree or global equivalent, OR

A minimum of 7 years of professional-level experience in an HR position with a high school diploma or global equivalent

 

In addition, SPHRi candidates must demonstrate knowledge of employment law in one of the following ways:

  • Holding a national or local certification (such as PHR, SPHR, GPHR, CHRP, CIPM, CAHRI-CP etc.) that includes knowledge of employment laws, OR
  • Holding a Bachelor’s degree (or global equivalent) or higher in Human Resources, OR
  • Completing a university or college-level course in employment law, OR
  • Completing a formal training class or certificate program in employment law sponsored by a university/college, HR association or other approved training provider.
