Step 1. Become an IHRCI member for free

Become our member so that you can avail of reduced exam fees and/or preparatory/mandatory seminars/courses needed for the certification. You will also have full access to tons of HR resources that may be helpful to you to prepare for the exam and your HR profession as well and other value-adding and exclusive benefits. The registration procedure as below:

 

1.1. Register with LinkedIn account (if you do not have one)

1.2. Join IHRCI LinkedIn Group (www.linkedin.com/groups/4025591)

1.3. Go to www.ihrci.org/user/user_register

1.4. Press "Register” on the upper right corner

1.5. Press "allow it" or "continue" to grant IHRCI Connect with your LinkedIn Account

1.6. Read the "The IHRCI Record Privacy Policy" and press "I agree"

1.7. Fill in your personal information

1.8. Submit the form and log in again by your registered e-mail and password

 

Step 2. Create an Online Account on HRCI

Go to www.hrci.org and click the “Login” button at the top of the page. Under the login box, click the “Create Account” link. If you already have an account but do not remember your password, please click the ‘Forgot username or password’ to reset it. Then, you must create your profile with your name on passport and the other required information.

 

Step 3. Complete the online application with payment before deadline

The HR Certification Institute (HRCI) offers the exam during two time periods annually-March 1-31 and September 1-30. You should check the deadline on the HRCI’s website (www.hrci.org/apply/fees-and-deadlines/).

Follow on-screen instructions and towards the end of the registration process, choose "IHRCI" in the drop-down menu (your membership will be confirmed with IHRCI later on) to avail of reduced exam fees (USD25). After completing all required application information, you will submit payment. Please note that a 75 USD nonrefundable late fee is applied to all applications submitted during the Late Application time frame.

SPHRi candidate s are required to select from one of four options during the application process and may be asked for documentation confirming that you have knowledge of employment laws in your country.

 

Step 4. Complete Optional Credential Readiness Assessment (CRA)

An email from HRCI will provide instructions for completing the Credential Readiness Assessment (CRA). The CRA is an optional self-reported, online pre-assessment developed to assess your professional readiness for the selected credential. The CRA is combination of multiple-choice questions and proficiency statements. These assessment results provide details on the topic areas you should focus your study efforts to improve your chances of success on the exam.

 

Step 5. Schedule and Locate Exam

Exams are administered through Prometric. Prometric operates a network of test centers in over 160 countries. When scheduling an appointment, have the following information ready:

  • Your name exactly as it appears on your passport
  • Your Eligibility ID number (this is located in your online application summary)
  • Your daytime phone number
  • The name of the exam sponsor (HRCI)
  • The exam for which you are registered (PHRi or SPHRi)
  • Your preferred appointment date, time and location
  • Select one to two alternate dates, times and locations, in case your

 

To schedule an exam, click the "Schedule Exam" link on the receipt page of your application payment on hrci.org. Prometric will notify you of any changes to test site availability due to bad weather, technical issues or other unscheduled events. After complete the scheduling, prometric will send a confirmation email with your new appointment information. If you do not receive the confirmation email, contact Prometric immediately. We encourage you to schedule your exam early in the testing period, as demand increases near the end of the period.

 

Step 6. Take the Exam

On exam day, bring your unexpired passport with both your photograph and your signature to the Prometric Test Center (PTC). Upon arrival, you must present proof of your passport. If you arrive at the test center without your passport, you will not be permitted to take the exam and your fees will NOT be refunded. Arrive at the PTC at least 30 minutes before your exam time.

Candidates have 2 hours and 30 minutes (130 multiple-choice questions) to complete the exam through computer based testing. Upon completion of each examination part, your performance results will be displayed on the screen, and you will also receive a printed and embossed copy of your results before leaving the testing center. That means You will get unofficial exam results before you leave the test center. Official results will be sent within approximately eight (8) weeks after taking the exam. Successful candidates will receive their credentials at this time as well. If you do not receive an official results report within eight (8) weeks after the end of the testing period, you should send an email to HRCI at [email protected].
